As part of a senior thesis, Columbia resident Austin Crane, decided to make an entire album based off of the biblical book of Genesis. The new record begins a new chapter for Crane under the moniker of Valley Maker. It is truly a new step for him, and it evokes the feeling of Mount Eerie mixed with some of the subtleties of Sufjan Stevens. He sent over a copy of the record, and I’m glad he did, because these songs are incredible (they also feature some vocals from Georgia resident Amy Godwin). They are also available for whatever you want to pay over here. These are two of my favorites off of the album.
Also, you should make sure you catch the CD release party May 21st, at the Nickelodeon Theatre in beautiful Columbia, SC at 10 pm. It’s only $10 and includes a CD. I’d love to see you there too.
